What to expect at AuraChurch

We understand that stepping into a new church can be a bit daunting. To help you get a feel for our church we’ve tried to answer some of the most common questions below

What times are the services?

When we launch in 2019 we’ll be starting our services at 9:30am. Most people try to arrive 10 or 15 minutes early, so that they can say hello and find a seat before we begin. The service runs for a little over an hour, followed by morning tea.

How do I get there?

TBA! You’ll be able to get directions by clicking here.

Is there a dress code?

No. God is interested in your heart, not your wardrobe.

Will I be singled out if I am new?

People will be friendly and will make you feel welcome, but we won’t do anything to make you feel awkward! Most Sundays, there are people just like you who are checking out Aura Church for the first time. Our goal is for you to have the best experience possible.

What about my kids?

We love kids and you are more than welcome to bring them with you to church! We have a creche for pre-primary kids that is available throughout the entire service We also have a Kid’s Church (aka Sunday School – with Bible stories, activities and sometimes craft) for primary school kids that runs during the second half of our church service. Whoever’s leading the service will let everyone know when Kid’s Church is about to start.

All our children’s ministry volunteers have Bluecards and meet Australia’s child safety requirements.

What happens during the church service?

Our church service is a time for connecting with God and connecting with one another. Our music team leads us in singing; we pray to God; we read the Bible; and someone gives a talk unpacking and explaining the Bible. We do our best to explain what we’re doing along the way so that everyone knows what’s going on.

What happens after the church service?

Everyone is encouraged to stay for morning tea. This is a great time to grab a cuppa, have something to eat, and get to know some of the great people at Aura Church.

What if I don't know much about God?

Great! We would love you to come and discover more about Him. We’ll do our best to make you feel comfortable, explain what’s going on, and we’ll try to avoid using religious jargon. Nothing is as important as having a right relationship with God, and we want to help you figure out how that is possible through Jesus.

What church are you connected with?

Aura Church, along with Eumundi Presbyterian (EP) is a campus of Maroochydore Presbyterian Church (MP). We often describe ourselves as “One Church in Three Locations”. All three churches are collectively led by a team of elders, with representatives at each campus. We are a part of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland.
